Today's Skype release contains just one unannounced innovation. The developers say they have removed Google product offers from the installer only, but I have found something else: a new compact panel with call information will showing up while Skype is minimized. Now you can always see the info like call duration, the name and avatar of person you talking to. On mouse hover, you'll get the quick access to the mute and hang up buttons.
If you don't need it, you can always disable this panel by turning off the next option: Tools → Options → Calls → Call settings → “Show call controls when Skype is in the background”.
