   Hi,
   
   As Skype version 8 has a lot of problems and is much less configurable than its version 7, I have (like many others) reverted to this old but faithful version 7. Yet, Skype insists for upgrading it-self and I have to click "Not now " each time the upgrade window opens... last time, Skype version 8 even installed it-self silently and I got two Skypes ! (I needed to uninstall the undesired version 8 and to relaunch the version 7).
   
   How do we prevent Skype from "upgrading" it-self, at least until Microsoft comes with a more decent and configurable version 8 ?

      Hi! Uninstall the 8 version, then open the 7 version and disable automatic updates from Skype → Tools → Options → Advanced → Automatic Updates. If this does not help, try DisableSkypeUpdater.vbs

      Hello! Try to remove <StatsSender>...</StatsSender> from config.xml (if you need more details, please let me know).

      Hello!
      Unfortunately, Skype 8 does not support the "compact view" mode.
      
      I recommend you to send feedback to developers and ask them to implement this feature in the new Skype. Please read here how to do it.

   I downloaded Skype from this website but since my computer is so outdated it will open the program, and then it will load with a spinning circle around my cursor and then the program crashes. I am using Windows 7 32-bit with 2GB of Ram.

   hi, i just downloaded skype from this website on my windows 7 32-bit laptop but i can't seem to log in. Any advise on what the problem might be? thanks.

      Hello Charles! Unfortunately, Microsoft has disabled Skype 7 and users cannot use it anymore on any operating systems. To continue using Skype you should update it to Skype 8 or use Skype for Web.

   Each time I try to download Skype to my Windows 7 PC I get "application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022) ...close application"

   De fiecare dată când încerc să descarc Skype pe computerul meu Windows 7, primesc "aplicația nu a putut începe corect (0x800000003) sau (0x01a6429c.)... închide aplicația" Vă rugăm să mă ajutați?

   Since the last update I got extra window with 0x800000003 error from skype when I want to close windows 7 64bit.
   Computer dosent want to close by itself , I have to press close or OK button,( I dont remember which was there.) to continue closing.........annoying...
