Remarkable features of Skype

Skype for Windows

At first Skype 6.7 launch, the new rainbow was the first thing I noticed. Thus, “the secondary symbol” of Skype now looks simpler and less motley. You can see it during installation or by opening the “about” window. Speaking about this window — it became a square shape, there are no more rounded corners and protruding interface elements.

The settings section has undergone changes too: all the tabs lost their gradients, rounded corners, and colored icons from the left side. Furthermore, most of sections completely lost their icons. I think it's a right decision, because time of multicolored interfaces has passed. Now Skype looks modern in all aspects and that's good.

While for general users these changes most likely will be imperceptible, users who use high contrast Windows themes will see completely redesigned interface, because Skype will switch its interface to high contrast theme too.

Aside from design changes, in Skype for Windows was added the long awaited ability to make calls to Facebook and Lync contacts. Many users have been waiting for this feature since 6.0 version, when developers told about their plans for the future.
