Problems with messages in the Skype chat

According to an official statement from the official blog, Skype’s engineers are working to resolve some problems associated with sending and receiving instant messages. Despite the fact that the network status is constantly spinning, audio calls and video calls work without problems, as well as some group chats.

Apparently, the issue affects all platforms, and at this moment, there are no workarounds, so the only thing we can do is to wait until the developers fix the issue, or, alternatively, use calls instead of chat.

    My skype is simply not connectingand messages are not sent.... i keep seeing the refresh sign.
    I do have the latest version - no updates available.
    using Windows 10

      As I wrote, please wait until developers will fix the issue. It seems for some users Skype for Web now works properly.

    I now have version 8.17.0.2 for Mac and I can't create video messages let alone send them. On very old versions there was no problem, then it got slow and clunky and now the option seems to have disappeared.

      As I wrote here, the new Skype cannot send video messages yet.
