Sorry, we couldn’t connect to Skype

If you look at the changes list of recent release Skype for Windows, you can notice that in this version has been added the text of a new error that should occur if the computer is not connected to the Internet. In such cases, the following error occurs:

Sorry, we couldn’t connect to Skype.
Please check your internet connection and try again.

Before you begin to resolve the error, make sure you have installed the latest versions of the following programs:

    • Skype settings
    • User preferences
    • Hosts File
    • Internet Explorer
  4. Click the «Perform» button
  5. In the «Reset Internet Explorer Settings» dialog box, click «Reset»
  6. Run Skype

Hello! Glad to see that my app fixed your problem. In all fairness should be noted that this app just resets to the default settings of the Skype and operating system. Thus, in most cases the problem is on the users’ side, which like to disable updates, ads, homepage and other functions by applying undocumented hacks and workarounds that lead to unpredictable problems.
